Getting it quoted properly
Four things worth knowing before you talk to anyone. They are the difference between a grant you receive and a grant you were told about.
SEAI-registered installers only
A grant can only be claimed on work done by an installer on SEAI’s register. Anyone quoting you a grant-funded job who is not on it is quoting you something they cannot deliver.
The grant comes off the quote
For most measures the installer applies for the grant and shows it as a deduction. If a quote asks you to pay in full and claim it back yourself, ask why.
Order matters
Several grants require a BER assessment and an approved application before any work starts. Starting first is the most common way people lose thousands.
